Assessment of Accented Speech

Purpose: Assess medical professionals' pronunciation and intonation patterns before and after training. This assessment tool is a companion piece to Medically Speaking: Accent Modification for the Medical Profession. Results of the inventory assist in the identification of training goals that are addressed in the training program. The sentence portion provides excellent before and after documentation to demonstrate mastery of skills.

Administration time: 20-30 minutes

Formats: A CD contains the following files which can be printed and copied for test administration only:

• Response forms are fully reproducible direct from the Adobe 6.0 pdf file
• The entire Instruction and Rationale File, or just the Key for International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), as needed.
• If you prefer paper administration, print the Test Plates file
• If you have the option to use a laptop, use the PowerPoint Test Plates for individual administration or for distance learning
