"I used Boston Rules to work with six Bostonians who wanted to reduce their Boston accents. This book is the only resource you will need as either an accent coach or a Bostonian yourself to help develop a more neutral accent. It begins with a clear outline of the various features of the accent, then provides ample stimuli to practice with including single words, sentences, and paragraphs. There are many ideas of fun ways to use this stimuli such a task you can do with a deck of playing cards. Boston Trivia, complete with lots of words which are dead give-aways such as the classic "Park your car in Harvard Yard," is included as well. My clients gave Boston Rules rave reviews. Since the book provides examples of both the Boston and a more standard American English accent, it could be used equally well by anyone wanting to either lose or gain a Boston accent.
